From Hanalei's conception (November 2002) through November of 2004 all songs were written and played soley by Brian Moss. Hanalei's debut, "We Are All Natural Disasters" came out on Thick Records in 2004. From December of 2004 through December 2006 Hanalei consisted of Brian Moss: guitars & vocals, Pete Tsoukas: guitars, Jason Kyrouac/Nick Kraska: drums, & Pete Croke: bass. Hanalei's second effort, a full-band project, "Parts and Accessories" came out in 2006 on Thick Records. In 2007, following Brian's move back to Oakland and then San Francisco, CA, things went back to solo form. Sometimes, there's a laptop involved. The computer wishes to remain nameless. Lately, Brian's bedroom, living room and internal laptop microphone have taken on a personality all their own.
Hanalei's new, and once again solo, record entitiled "One Big Night" is slated for release in the US on June 1st, 2010 via Big Scary Monsters Records. A UK release will follow later on in the year.
